Waiting by the door, on anything, that's how he waits for his forever home.  :  >  )

Smart, sweet talker, and sassy

When he wakes up from the dog bed, on the floor, at the foot of our bed, Jake brings me his toy (usually the raccoon) in the morning.  That means raccoon is ready to go out. I reach out to take the toy at the door with no resistance. (Probably doesn't want him to get all muddy or wet, either. It's his favorite.)

If I am busy during the day and he wants out he goes to the door. I'm still busy...he comes over to me and carries on a whole conversation. Probably telling me off for not obeying him immediately.

I'm not sure if the laying his head in my lap is showing affection or sweet talking me to get another treat. (But I love it)

He finishes his day by doing "zoomies" in the back yard. Round and round, like he is on the racetrack.

He is waiting for his "forever home" and will be great with children and/or small dogs.  He's already had experience with older people, too.

He chased a stray cat when it was in our yard. Haven't seen that kitty since. Went home, I think. Cats are not seen as prey, I've been told, and I believe he is cat safe tested.

I will need to get a secure lidded trash can for the kitchen, though. That's where the "smart" comes in. He has figured out how to open the swing top.  Even when it is facing the wall or counter. (It helps not to have aromatic trash in it.) My bad. Chuckle, chuckle.  I've not seen him bother the open small trash in the bathrooms or bedroom. No challenge there, do you think?

He has ridden well to Acworth and back, both times, laying down when told.

Did we mention he comes with a dowry?  Yep, a nice bed, crate, if needed, and a bin full. 2 coats, plus a rain coat, a sweater, wall signs, flea med, a blanket, a muzzle (for first-time meeting yours) and now a generous bag of food to transition to what you choose to use.

Make an appointment today with our staff to meet him, won't you?

Jake's antics

Jake started out hating to be crated. He came with lots of toys and now puts his toys in it and snoozes peacefully in there. With the door open. He enjoys the sun and loves the back yard. He spends the night on a dog bed located on the floor at the foot of our bed. We close the hall door to ensure he doesn't get into mischief during the night. So far he has slept as hard as he plays and all night long.

RCK Lights Out arrived into our home as foster yesterday. Already he has started to play with all his favorite things he brought with him.  He enjoys spending time in the back yard and does well free in the house. No counter surfing, so we only have crated him when we leave.  He is docile with our little dog and not pushy with our senior Greyhound.

Keeping up with the BIG dogs!!

Lights Out has really enjoyed heading to the dog park this week and playing with the other dogs. Even the Great Danes! We were surprised how easy it was for him to leap into the back of the SUV. I think someone enjoys going for a ride!

He has acclimated well at home, and enjoys tossing around his stuffed monkey or just being lazy sprawled out on his dog bed in the middle of the living room!
