Keeping up with the BIG dogs!!

Lights Out has really enjoyed heading to the dog park this week and playing with the other dogs. Even the Great Danes! We were surprised how easy it was for him to leap into the back of the SUV. I think someone enjoys going for a ride!

He has acclimated well at home, and enjoys tossing around his stuffed monkey or just being lazy sprawled out on his dog bed in the middle of the living room!

We have really enjoyed having Lights Out in our home as a foster. He is a good, sweet dog. He has a very sweet personality and is super friendly. Lights out is active and inquisitive. He has really enjoyed exploring our house and neighborhood. We are learning how to keep him off our kitchen counters - he is still very curious about this but getting better.

Lights Out has slept in his crate in our room every night without any fuss. He likes to get up in the morning early to have some breakfast. Then after a quick trip outside to potty he curls up on his bed in the living room to sleep in a little longer. He has done well during the day in the crate too, for a few hours at a time. He settles in quickly to enjoy his Kong filled with treats. He has not had any accidents in the house or his crate.

Lights Out is a big fellow and he is strong. While it is hard to turn him away from something he is interested in checking out, like food, he is really easy to walk on a leash. He doesn't pull much, or at least not hard. He will usually stay by your side but he does like to zig-zag a little to check everything out.

We have a very small shy cat at our house. She has had no interest in getting anywhere near Lights Out. She has stayed safely behind the doggie gate. If she was not so shy and Lights Out had a chance to check her out I think he would lose interest. Right now she is still a mystery he is trying to figure out.

We have all been able to touch Lights Out’s feet, ears, tail and teeth without any negative reaction. I haven’t tried to clip his nails or brush his teeth yet but I don’t think that would bother him.

Lights Out has a couple of soft squeaky toys he likes to play with. He throws them all over the room and pounces on them. It is pretty funny to watch. He just started letting us in on the game too. We can throw the toy for him and he will run and get it.
